Are you in Sustainability, or do you want to be?

I have been asked by one of our biggest, best clients, a Fortune 500 global giant - a (€10bn t/o; 50, 000+ employees, 30 countries) commercial business to centralise and build-out their sustainability team (nearly) from scratch.

The end-goal is to have a large team of Sustainability Managers (SMs), which will be made of c. 10-15 people all over the globe, covering Carbon, Social Responsibility and Reporting.

Th team will be made up of people who have integrity, with a flexible pragmatism that considers the needs of the organisation in developing and implementing the Sustainability Management approach.

We are looking for a broad mix of skills and experience, but the common traits will include non-technical attributes including: someone who is fun, intelligent, and creative.

The SM role would be an ideal role for a professional with similar progressive experience, looking to get into the sustainability profession in a large company; or an established ESG / sustainability professional, looking to move to a bigger, better company with a 'world-class' function covering carbon, reporting, and CSR - most likely, you will have somewhere between 3-10 years' relevant experience.

I have placed nearly dozens of people into this business over the last 10 years, and nearly all of them are still there.

; and the last Managers I placed are now Senior Managers, Directors or VPs leading whole departments - so the title 'Manager' really doesn't do it justice!
