System Administrator – Space Programs

We are looking for two skilled System Administrators to join our team and play a key role in managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure supporting the Galileo program. You will work in a high-availability environment, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the ground segment systems that keep Europe's global navigation satellite system (GNSS) running smoothly.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field2+ years of experience as a System Administrator in a complex IT environment (space, aerospace, telecommunications, or similar)Technical Skills Strong expertise in Windows & Linux system administrationKnowledge of virtualization technologies (e. g. VMware)Familiarity with networking concepts (routing, switching, firewall, VPNs)Proficiency in automation & scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible)Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approachAbility to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across departmentsFluency in English (written and spoken)Eligibility for security clearanceWillingness to travel within Europe when requiredWHAT YOU WILL DO As a System Administrator, you will be part of the Galileo Ground Segment, a critical component of the Galileo satellite navigation system. Your role will involve configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the ground segment infrastructure while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure high availability and reliability of Galileo services.
You will be responsible for: Installing, configuring, and maintaining complex IT infrastructures, including servers, networking devices, cryptographic systems, and key IT servicesSetting up and managing containerized servicesEnsuring the integration and testing of new software and hardware releases before deploymentTesting & Compliance Support Assisting in penetration tests and IT security audits to evaluate system robustness and complianceSupporting the delivery of Galileo's navigation message, ensuring the infrastructure meets strict operational standardsOperations & Continuous Improvement Participating in anomaly investigations, change control boards, and system migrations to enhance system performanceCollaborating with ESA, EUSPA, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with mission requirements and industry best practicesThis is a unique opportunity to work in a high-tech, mission-critical environment, contributing to one of Europe's most strategic space programs.
