Position Title

System/Software configuration manager/engineerPosition MissionAs a configuration manager/engineer, you focus on the aspects of software products, from hardware components to functional modules.

You develop processes for managing the configuration process and tracking the configuration items for changes and modifications

Responsibilities

Define the CM scope and plandefining the scope and objectives of the CM process, such as what components are subject to CM, what standards and procedures are followed, what roles and responsibilities are assigned, and what resources and tools are neededDeveloping and maintaining the CM plan, which documents the CM strategy, policies, processes, methods, and tools for the project or systemEstablish and maintain the configuration baselineEstablishing and maintaining the configuration baseline, which is a set of approved and controlled versions of the project or system components that serve as the reference point for further development, testing, and deploymentIdentifying the configuration items (CIs) such as software modules, hardware components, documents, or configurations.

Assigning unique identifiers, attributes, and relationships to the CIs, and stores them in a configuration management database (CMDB) or a configuration management system (CMS)Control and manage the configuration changescontrolling and managing the configuration changes, which are any modifications or updates to the CIs or the configuration baselineImplementing and enforcing the change management process, which defines how the changes are requested, evaluated, approved, implemented, tested, and documentedUsing the configuration management tools, such as version control systems, change management systems, or configuration management software, to record, track, and monitor the changes and their impacts on the project or systemImprove and optimize the CM process and toolsimproving and optimizing the CM process and tools, which are the methods and techniques used to perform the CM activities and tasks by recommending improvement and optimization, such as adopting best practices, standards, or guidelines, updating or upgrading the CM tools, or providing training or support to the CM team or stakeholders

Technical Skills

Preferred, Degree in Electronic/Software Engineering;

Proficient in computers, have sound knowledge of creating and managing complex databases. Knowledge of the main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, PowerBi);

Experience utilizing a CM Tool (e. G. , Subversion, Clear Case) that supports an enterprise CM framework;

Experience working in software system development and sustainment as a software developer, analyst, systems engineer, CM Specialist or CM systems administrator;

Ability to workeffectively with all levels of the organisation, with the attitude to contribute with constructive and practicalideas;

Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment;

Ability to workautonomously in teams and for projects is required
