System Engineer - Linux:

To support our growing business, activities and needs, we are recruiting a talented System Engineer to join our brand-new Global Operations Center located in Turin, Italy.

The System Engineer will actively contribute to maintain, operate, and monitor the existing corporate infrastructure as well as to its future design and implementation.

DESCRIPTION Some of the responsibilities will include: Managing and monitoring of existing systems and infrastructureInstalling, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management toolsEnsuring the integrity and high availability of our infrastructure (Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity)Performing on-site and remote technical supportImplementing and supporting disaster recovery / business continuity solutionsMaintaining system documentation to include system reviews and recommendationsIdentifying potential issues and proactively proposing solutions and improvementsSecuring systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring accessTroubleshooting and fault finding if issues ariseFulfilling ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the CompanyContributing to the definition and implementation of project best practices and quality processesParticipation in the on-call rotationHIERARCHICAL REPORTING Hierarchically reports to the Managing Director, MSC Technology ItalyFunctionally reports to the Infrastructure Team LeaderQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Required skills and experience: Extensive experience within information security/technology sectorPractical experience working in a RHEL (7 & 8) environment / Debian / UbuntuExperience with RedHat SatelliteProven experience with Azure, Azure DevOps and working within CI/CD pipelinesScripting knowledge (Ansible, Bash, Python)Hands-on experience with job scheduler / SCM (Rundeck, Git)Expertise in deploying and maintaining business critical applications and solutionsProven experience in incident management, service request management and troubleshooting using root cause analysis (RCA) techniquesAbility to multitask and work under pressureOutstanding English languages written and verbal communication skillsOutstanding customer service skillsDesirable skills and experience: Experience of using ticketing systems and use of monitoring and management toolsExperience with ServiceNow APIsExperience with automated provisioning workflow / IaC templatingExperience with Datadog / self-remediation monitoringExperience with cloud-based solutions around compute, storage, and network (Azure)Experience with Agile methodologyRHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or equivalent certificationsITIL certificationFluency in French is a plusThe successful candidate: Positive and can-do attitudeTeam player and collective result-orientedDriven by expectations and customer satisfactionWe are a company that hires for attitude, mindset, and trains for skills.
