Webuild Group is looking for a TBM Operator to join the Bovino-Orsara AV Consortium, which is working on the construction of the Naples-Bari High-Speed/High-Capacity railway line.

The construction site base is located in Bovino.

The ideal candidate has gained solid experience in tunneling, either in Italian or international projects, within the field of Major Infrastructure Works.

The role involves the safe and efficient operation and management of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) for excavation work on infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of TBM machines, be able to solve operational problems, and ensure high-quality performance in compliance with safety regulations.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintaining line and grade of the tunnel, possessing extensive knowledge of TBM tunneling guidance system and ring prediction program. Responsible for TBM operations in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines, covering all machine parameters to be used along the tunnel. Responsible for monitoring the excavated material throughout the mining cycle to minimize the risk of breaks. Ensuring that building tolerance follows applicable regulations specified in the contract during the erection of the segmental tunnel lining (including plane, lips and steps).

The segments shall be carefully handled during the erection and bolting phase, without damaging the TBM gaskets. Implementation of the annular grouting procedure, behind the secondary lining.

This includes verifying and confirming that the primary grout pump works before the start of the mining, and verifying the volume and pressure of grout injection through the tail skin. Supervision of Mucking operations and spoil handling within the TBM. Assisting Tunnel Engineers/Superintendents regarding tunneling shifts, reports and daily records. Assisting the mechanical team with assembly and disassembly of the TBM before the initial drive, as well as inspecting the cutting head and cutting tools. Responsible for identifying and communicating any and all safety hazards.
