Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH854574 Appointment Pool Como Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of highly competent and dedicated Design and Technology Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Suitable applicants should have a deep belief that every student is capable of successful learning and exhibit highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice.
An excellent knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner are also desirable qualities. The ability to teach any of the following courses will be advantageous - General Materials Design and Technology Wood, General Materials Design and Technology Metal and/or Lower school Design and Technology contexts such as Robotics, Product Design, Mechatronics, Material design, Computer Graphics, Applied Technology, Computer Animation.
Suitable applicants will ideally be able to display how they will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices will be considered favourably.
The initiative to work well with your colleagues as part of a team to develop teaching strategies, resources and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential should be addressed in your application.
Suitable applicants should have a growth mindset and be committed to the school's Instructional Model which is based on practices that have a strong evidence base for their effectiveness. All teachers will ideally participate in the school's Instructional Coaching program. Skills and knowledge in these areas will be an advantage.
