Support Lead & Product Test Engineer (Open)

Role OverviewThe Tech.

Support Lead & Product Test Engineer oversees the operations and requirements of the Bottanuco Product Testing & Tech Support Facility.

Primarily responsible for efficient UN certification laboratory operations.

Secondarily handles testing to support customer, sales, and manufacturing requests for technical assistance, failure root cause analysis, product development, and innovation.

Manages a globally aligned testing model for UN Certification Testing and test programs. Coordinates the laboratory operations and procedures for the UN Testing program for rigid products, primarily plastic drums, IBC's, and jerrycans. Analyzes test results and prepares reports. Supports requests for assistance from sales and manufacturing in investigating customer complaints.

Provides feedback to sales & plants on results of investigations in accordance with company quality procedures. Communicates with competent authorities on UN-testing, etc.

Communicates with internal and external customers and suppliers as appropriate. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Bottanuco Product Testing & Technical Support facility. Supports MOC/TSR tests as requested. Conducts business in accordance with The Greif Way and treats all colleagues and customers with dignity and respect. Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to: use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.

Establishes a culture of proactivity for HS&E awareness within the team. Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, provides open and constructive feedback, ensures positive employee relations and reviews employee performance. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & ExperienceTypically possesses Technical School Certificate/Diploma.

5+ years' experience in one or more of the following: quality, test engineering, technical service.

Plastic drum technical and manufacturing experience preferred.

Knowledge and SkillsThis role requires a strong level of analytical skills: judgment, impact, and agility.
