You will serve both internal and external customers with all operational technical inquiries related to Wärtsilä Engines and their control systems. You will provide support in the field of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for related engines. You will report to the General Manager Technical Services Mediterranean Region. This is a permanent opportunity and the preferred location is Marseille, France. Other locations in the Mediterranean Region (Italy, Spain, Greece) or Europe may be considered. Your role and responsibilities As Engine Expert (4 Stroke), your work will focus on these responsibilities: Manage complex technical and operating problems of the customer and internal stakeholders to ensure quality support and customer satisfaction. Participate in customer and/or vendor meetings as an engine expert when complex technical matters are handled. Perform troubleshooting and technical field investigations and screening of field service reporting. Visit sites for deeper product, system, and/or performance analysis. Analyze field experience and customer feedback data to improve products and solutions as well as operation and maintenance of the installation. Make complex analysis with appropriate conclusions and recommendations (reports). Be responsible for handling Technical Requests received from customers. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education. Motivation and genuine interest in working with 4-stroke engines. A high level of mechanical and automation experience with Wärtsilä engines; experience with non-Wärtsilä engines is a strong plus. Experience in a service support role, especially with Wärtsilä products (field service/engineering). A true team player with a proactive approach and technical reporting skills who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Positive mindset and openness to learning new things. Customer-focused with a service-minded attitude. Fluency in written and spoken English and the local language of your location (French, Italian, Spanish, or Greek). Willingness to travel occasionally. Why you and us?
