Technical Manager
Technical Manager is responsible for the delivery of all technical requirements.
This will include but will not be limited to the following areas: lighting, sound, communications, AV, pyrotechnics, power, special effects, flying, rigging, physical production build, capital works and all production elements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the technical analysis of all relevant project elements.
- Contribute to look for feasible technical solutions to support the concept creation and implementation acting as facilitator between contractors and relevant designers.
- Interact with all relevant department/stakeholders to guarantee a smooth communication process about limits/constraints and opportunities related to the venue and/or timing and/or locations, etc.
- Contribute to project management strategies and priorities.
- Search and select potential suppliers and contractors.
- Facilitate the procurement process providing a correct set of information to the Financial/Admin department
- Create and/or contribute to define technical budget
- Create and/or contribute to define technical team
- Manage the production and assembly of all technical documentation for the full duration of both pitching and production phase.
- To be knowledgeable about the Client's obligations and responsibilities for the provision of services.
- Maintain regular communication with the identified key referents.
- Delivery of all the contractual technical obligations.
- Assembly of all technical design documentation, information and schedules required for the installation and operation of technical elements for the project.
- Manage technical staff in the delivery of their duties.
- Manage all Technical contractors and suppliers in the delivery of their services.
- Monitor, manage and report on the budget expenditures for the duration of the services.
- Ensure Technical integration with other divisions/departments and Client's functions.
Liaise with the Client and Venue Management as required for the successful delivery of all technical aspects of the project.
- To comply and respond to all procedural, administrational, and operational guidelines and instructions.
- To support risk management strategies and operations.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in technical positions on large scale events is required.
- At least 5 to 10 years of related work experience required in Entertainment Industry
- Previous experience in Opening and/or Closing Ceremony would be an asset.
- Understanding of technical, production and operational requirements for large-scale events and/or ceremonies.
- Understanding of creative process for large-scale events.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to anticipate and forecast.
- Strong people management skills.
- Ability to deal with staff and clients at all levels.
- Computer literate with good experience on Office and design software.
