Technical Safety Engineering Lead - E&P Company
Job description**:
Great opportunity to work for a mid-sized international E&P Company as a Technical Safety Engineering Lead, on a flagship, greenfield, mega offshore gas project.
**The Role**:
The Technical Safety Engineering Lead will work as part of the delivery team on the mega project, and will lead the safety workscopes required to obtain the necessary permits and approvals from the authorities as part of the development planning process.
Acts as a focal point for all safety related matters and provides cross-functional support to a number of key project activities.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Delivering the Design Notification (DNF) and Major Hazard Report (MHR) for the project and co-ordinating the required input from the various project delivery lines
- Working with the assigned Permitting Contractor to submit the DNF and MHR to the regulator.
Dealing with any queries and ultimately obtain approval of the documents.
- Engaging with the regulator responsible for implementation of the Offshore Safety Directive (ACROPO) on a regular basis and providing relevant project updates
- Managing the technical safety scope associated with the NGMS and ensuring compliance with local regulations
- Participating in project HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA and other safety workshops when required.
- Ensuring the project obtains all necessary permits, licenses and consents prior to start-up
- Participate in audits and other regulatory compliance assurance activities
- Assess impact of planned, newly issued or revised regulations on the facilities design
- Consults with the Head of Department on key issues, and in particular non-compliance with applicable regulations
- Delivering discrete work packages/resolving technical issues assigned by the Head of Department
- Developing technical study scopes and managing 3rd party consultants as required during the project execute phase
**Requirements**:
- Chartered Engineer by recognised industry body (desirable)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the offshore oil and gas industry
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
- Previous experience on large greenfield offshore oil and gas project in a similar role, working on behalf of the Operator
- A professional lead with extensive knowledge of the Technical Safety requirements for a large greenfield project in the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Demonstratable track record in the development and submission of Major Hazard Reports (or equivalent) and in obtaining applicable consents from the relevant authorities.
