MongoDB Technical Services Engineers will combine exceptional problem solving and communication skills with deep technical experience to advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems. They are experts in components of the MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, our management suite, and services such as Cloud Manager and MongoDB Atlas.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Milan for our hybrid working model.

Shifts Available:

Tuesday - Saturday Cool things you'll do

You'll be working alongside our largest customers, solving their complex challenges - resolving questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between. You'll be an expert resource on best practices in running MongoDB at scale. You'll be an advocate for customers' needs, interfacing with our product management and development teams on their behalf. You will also focus on the performance of our Cloud platform Atlas and its supported services.

What you need

The ideal candidate should have a mix of experience in most of the following areas. We are open to training people up in certain areas, so don't worry about ticking every box!

Distributed systems, Database architecture and administration, Application architecture, Data architecture Experience supporting complex mission-critical product applications and database systems (RDMBS or NoSQL or both) Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting experience Systems administration experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting Good understanding of Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, etc. ) Storage engineering experience, including NAS, RAID, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching Experience working with real-time stream processing using Kafka. Serverless computing services such as AWS Lambda, Azure functions. As this role is technical but also about helping our customers, we are looking for:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills Ability to think on your feet and solve problems in real-time Strong teamwork and willingness to seek help when required Strong written and verbal skills in English and Italian Bonus Points

Deep understanding of at least one object-oriented programming language. Experience with authentication systems such as LDAP, Kerberos, AD Experience using or managing MongoDB Experience using distributed version control systems, particularly git Experience using any cloud services stack such as AWS, Azure or GCP Success Measures

In 3 months, you'll have gained a deep understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem. In 6 months, you will be comfortable working directly with our customers. In 12 months, you will work on gaining expertise to be a part of a technical experts group within the MongoDB ecosystem.
