The purpose of the job is to coordinate Technical Support for Polymers Manufacturing area in Ferrara to ensure the technical development and improvement of production processes and plants in order to ensure their reliability, efficiency, and cost competitiveness within the current safety regulations.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement of safety, production processes, plants reliability and throughput, and cost competitiveness.
Ensure process data analyses for proposals of continuous enhancement of manufacturing plants reliability and quality reproducibility and to support investigations for claims.
Ensure the execution of Process Design activities to support Capex investments in the Polymers Manufacturing area, in the frame of Goalzero principles and culture and in compliance with legislation codes, Company standards and procedures, Operational Excellence standards also according to the best practice.
Secure the introduction of new products within the production run of the plants so as to induce a continuous innovation of the product range; ensure ready availability of all information regarding the status of the manufacturing plants process and production.
Provide coordination of the Technical Support Polymers group in order to ensure the necessary technical support to production plants in terms of HSE, quality, efficiency, productivity and costs.
Give relevant contribution in plant daily troubleshooting.
Ensure development of all necessary process engineering activities for plant projects and modifications to all process plant and equipment.
Support for commissioning, pre start-up and start-up of modified plant including personnel training.
Ensure cooperation with maintenance and Engineering and other departments involved, providing support and guidance in case of multi-discipline projects.
Provide process support and advice to all members of the operations and maintenance teams; operating/emergency procedures, training, technical input to improve product quality aspects.
Ensure full support to product quality issues including grade development and introduction of new products in the commercial plants in order to guarantee a continuous innovation of the products portfolio, in collaboration with Product Application Development, Production, Quality & Control Laboratory.
Ensure that LyondellBasell know-how of production processes is fully documented, continuously improved and up-dated, and assure its availability, if required, within the plant staff and within the company through the Knowledge Exchange Communities.
Availability in case of plant issues as on-call engineer on a monthly basis.
Assure plant support for regulatory especially European IPPC (integrated pollution prevention and control) directive (AIA), assuming the role of RT (technical responsible) of the continuous monitoring system (SME) installed in the boilers, ensure CO-NOx emissions be compliant with Regulatory limits.

Qualifications Education: University Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Work Experience: 8/10 years of experience in a position of both departmental and/or Technology Management, as well as Operations Management.
Languages: Good English knowledge.
Licenses & Certifications: Very important the knowledge, understanding and commitment to Norms, Standards and Procedures relevant to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO TS 16949, ISO 14001, FMEA).

Technical Skills: Ferrara plant includes the polypropylene resin production plant (FXXIV, Spheripol Technology) and Advanced Polyolefins (APO) production plant (MPX, Catalloy Technology) for a total of about 280. 000 tons per year.
The jobholder together with the production department are directly involved in any contingent issues may arise after changes of operational status carried out during industrial start-up of experimental productions.
The jobholder participates in the plant meetings in order to supply analytical information on plant problems, identify their source and propose solutions in line with the plant characteristics.
Other requirements to be fulfilled in the medium and long term are related to a review of safety criteria or to lower all costs pertinent to the optimization of the plant productivity and reliability.
Within this area, the manager analyses the Manufacturing Site Manager requests or proposes modifications to the plant, coordinating the project with his group to solve the technical and economic problems, allocating all activities directly in relation to the personnel work experience and checking the work progress.
The field of problem solving is comparatively wide and all problems are to be solved with sufficiently well-defined options.
His/Her approval is required for all decisions taken that have an impact on HSE, quality, efficiency, costs, and planning.
The jobholder maintains close relations with off-site public bodies and boards (ISPESL, USL, CTR) and on-site ones (HSE. , Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics, A. P. C. , R&D).
The jobholder has a strong knowledge and expertise on polyolefins production equipment and technologies, and is actively supporting the evolution and optimization of production plants and processes.
The jobholder would benefit from the knowledge of the base principles of Finance and Economics, as well as of the tools and methods of planning, budgeting and control.
Knowledge of Chemistry, Physics, and Chemical Engineering, as well as of Polypropylene Manufacturing Processes.
Six Sigma "Black Belt" training not mandatory, but highly appreciated.
