TEST ENGINEER The senior laboratory technician manages, coordinates and performs electrical, mechanical, chemical and environmental tests on devices or parts thereof belonging to the company's product range.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepares and is responsible for a variety of technical procedures for performing experiments and tests.

Performs and supervises tests, recording and independently analyzing any problems.

Records and processes measured data for evaluation, performing simple and complex calculations.

Performs laboratory support functions such as maintaining instrumentation and equipment.

Provides the supply of materials for carrying out the tests.

Performs records and technical duties in accordance with policies, company standards and regulations to meet quality and accuracy requirements.

Can analyze and manage company data.

Performs technical testing in one or more of the following areas: research and development, manufacturing, quality control/assurance, and/or compliance/environmental.

Provides technical support in areas such as: project testing and experiments, production testing, instrumentation and equipment maintenance, workplace safety, internal V&V process improvement, and internal product development processes.

Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform and administer tests.

Evaluates, analyzes and searches for solutions to problems with components, devices and electronic or mechanical systems.

Records, maintains, formats, compiles, processes, and manipulates technical data using established formulas and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.

Responsible for executing and overseeing complex tests, interpreting data, developing test reports, and providing updates to the function team and project team.

Performs technical activities of a complex nature with a decisive impact on the project.

The work consists of complex and complicated technical tasks.

The technical problems addressed are general and may require understanding of a broader set of issues and processes that affect other areas of work.

May be responsible for leading a V&V working group for one or more projects.

May be responsible for working as a supervisor to identify potential adjustments or improvements in systems and processes to resolve issues or improve project effectiveness.

Typically communicates with the R&D department, occasionally with the operations and quality departments.

Obtains and provides technical information on matters of significant importance to work areas.

Educational Requirements and Work Experience Requires advanced knowledge of testing activities in at least one of the areas: electronics, mechanics, chemistry and environmental, generally acquired through extensive work and/or academic experience.

Requires at least 5 years of experience in the testing sector (V&V); Requires technical education and advanced certification in addition to prior work experience.

Educational Requirements Master's degree in engineering or scientific field and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
