Its etiology and symptom heterogeneity remain unclear, and no single biomarker or definitive diagnostic sign has been identified.
Aim: The project addresses two key questions: a) What pathways are altered in the diverse cell populations of ME/CFS patient muscles?
b) How do cellular interactions and communication differ between patient and normal muscles?
Methods: The work will integrate impedance sensing, single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and pathway analysis to identify differential features, quantitatively explain alterations in ME/CFS patients, and discover new objective markers for diagnosis.
Collaborations: The researcher will work within an international group, collaborating with Lehigh University (USA), and the Universities of Chieti and Padova (Italy).
