**About the vacancy

The Transport Manager is part of the Country Management Team of Italy and responsible for maintaining and setting up of the operational transport organization, in compliance to all transport legislative requirements and health and safety aspects.

He directly reports to the Country Manager and in a matrix organization to the European Transport Manager.

The position is located in Piacenza, Ferrentino or Borgorose area.

**What will you do?

The holder of the vacancy will manage the Italian Transport organization to ensure a consistent and sustainable service and financial performance in cohesion with the warehouse business units, whilst considering the specific needs and developments of the business and its customers.

He/she will also manage the project transport deliverables required for the setup, implementation, and start-up of the new NewCold sites.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- Set up and grow the transport organization by supporting the country management in business development, translating these opportunities to achievable and scalable transport solutions and pricing

- Set up the day-to-day management of the transport organization to achieve set targets, by focusing on suitable transport solutions and structural network improvement

- Manage suppliers and related purchasing agreements of the business unit.

Control long-term contracted transport partners and manage sub-contracting or own fleet balance

- Balance the ambitious profit, service and sourcing strategy within the transport organization taking into consideration profitability, compliance, and other regulatory constraints

- Manage, coach, and develop the team and direct reports to improve individual and organizational performance and excel within their line of responsibilities

- Provide input to transport-linked requests of the customer and in the project, such as yard management, pallet management, EDI set-up and transport agreements

- Support, initiate and contribute to all transport related aspects that are important for yard management

- Recognize opportunities in the project to blend into the general transport strategy of the country.

Create momentum for increasing the own transport presence in the country

- Actively search for BD opportunities within the existing projects

- Function as key member for the Project team

Qualifications and Work Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in transport related studies or extensive operational transport background

- CPC and logistics qualification

- 3 PL logistics knowledge

- Years of experience in internationally operating transport organisations

- Team management experience

- Experience working in international matrix organisations
