Write the next chapter of your ABB story. This position reports toTrade Transportation ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will coordinate utilization of equipment and ensure a high level of service and cost effective movement of goods for the customer.

The environment is fast paced with constantly changing demands and requires on-going attention to customer requirements, balancing of transport requests with available transport options, and real time communication of service issues with shippers and receivers.

The position requires making decisions which impact cost and service on a constant basis with minimal review and requires a broad range of knowledge of preferred lanes, rates, and equipment availability.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for:Maintain communication with transport service providers to place transport orders, receive confirmation, monitor important milestonesPlan and optimize multi-leg (e. g.

ocean and airfreight) and multi-segment (e. g.

stop-offs) shipments. Calculate total transportation lead time and transport costUnderstand different planning techniques including the functionality of transport management systems and load planning toolsLocal transport market knowledge including equipment, port and airport operations as well as relevant restrictions and regulationsCarrier operating model knowledgeKnow how to work with freight forwarders and transport providersAbility to justify cost overruns when they occurYou will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive. Qualifications for the roleYou are skilled in transportation rules and regulations, working with advanced TMS platforms (Eyefreight)You have 3 years of experience in transport management or freight forwarding is a plusPossess an enhanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and OutlookYou are passionate about managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environmentYou have the ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as fleet provider personnelDiploma or Degree in supply chain or logistics managementYou are at ease communicating in Italian and EnglishMore about usABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
