The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger.

It does so by investing in rural people.

IFAD finances programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and advocates at the local, national and international level for policies that contribute to rural transformation.

The Financial Operations Department (FOD) is a dynamic financial, strategic and responsive business partner and service provider fully supporting IFAD in developing its financial strategy and managing its financial, investments and material resources.

FOD ensures that these resources are efficiently, economically and effectively used to achieve IFAD's objectives in the long-term and deliver on its development commitments.

Position specific: Within the Division, the Investment Management (IM) team is responsible for managing IFAD's investment portfolio and the assets of other funds under IFAD management.

The Finance Analyst will be committed to the delivery of assigned objectives and activities and keep abreast of related industry developments and skills required to respond to the divisional work plan and results.

Job Role: The Treasury Analyst (Investment Management) will work under the overall strategic, policy and management guidance of the Director & Treasurer, and direct supervision/guidance of the Senior Treasury Officer.

Key Functions and Results: TREASURY BUSINESS PARTNER: The Finance Analyst (Treasury) is a credible, trusted partner to the client offices served and the Department/Division/Unit assigned.

They participate in the activities of the Investment Management team, providing execution and support functions in accordance with investment policies and guidelines.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: The incumbent is establishing expertise in the UN's financial principles, policies, regulations, rules, and procedures.

Representative activities include: Reviewing, approving, reconciling and processing a range of accounting transactions; Monitoring financial performance, allotments and expenditures; Managing non-complex loans and grants portfolio(s); Analyzing and recommending individual securities for different fixed income sectors.

AGENT OF CHANGE: The Finance Analysts maintain an awareness of the principles of change management and proactively serves as a role model for transformation.

MANAGERIAL FUNCTIONS: Is accountable for integrity, transparency, in the personal use of assigned IFAD resources.

Key Performance Indicators: Finance Analysts will be expected to work independently, show initiative, problem-solving attitude, and demonstrate strong work ethic.

Job Profile Requirements: Education: An advanced university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Physics or any other technically relevant area.

Experience: At least two (2) years of professional experience in investment management and trading operations.

Languages: Required English (4 - Excellent)

Skills: Knowledge of capital markets instruments and risk metrics; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
