Tunnel Engineer, Milan

We are looking for an experienced Tunnel Engineer to join our fast-growing Tunnelling team within Arup's Milan Office, who will deliver local and global projects.
Ongoing projects include the HS2 project in the UK, Metro Projects in California and Denmark, mining projects for energy projects in the UK, and advisory and technical support to Italian Concessionaires for infrastructure projects. Your role:Take ownership of design packages. Work directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision. Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines. Produce project-related correspondence and reports. Provide design calculations and support the preparation and review of drawings. Perform project and team administration duties. Requirements:BEng in Civil Engineering or a BSc in Geological Sciences supplemented by an MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering/Soil Mechanics or Structural Engineering. Working knowledge of industry-standard software for tunnelling, geotechnical, and structural design. 3 to 6 years of geotechnical and tunnelling design experience in a consultancy environment. Good experience in numerical analysis. Able to demonstrate strong engineering skills and knowledge. Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment. Able to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges. Publication in journals and conferences is encouraged. Enthusiasm for international working would be an advantage. Fluent in Italian and English.
