Underwriting
AIG's underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and individuals, and our standard of underwriting excellence and tradition of innovation, bringing to market groundbreaking insurance solutions for our changing world.
AIG's underwriters help to find insurance solutions for risks from a range of areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals.
We are looking for an experienced Financial Lines Underwriter who could work with different distribution channels and with a focus on developing the portfolio in a profitable way.
About the role
What you need to know:
- Coordination of the underwriting process from the inquiry to the conclusion of the policy
- Risk assessment of M&A transactions with regard to the seller's warranties
- Preparation of standard contracts (indications, confidentiality agreements, expense agreements, policies)
- Participation in and follow-up of underwriting calls
- Legal review of due diligence in close cooperation with external legal advisors
- Preparation and negotiation of the policy with clients and their lawyers
- Significant participation in and assumption of business development activities (presentations, publications, conferences)
- Revision of PowerPoint presentations and Word documents as well as organizational tasks, such as organizing meetings
- Maintaining relationships with private equity companies, in-house M&A departments, investment banking teams, specialized insurance brokers and law firms
What we're looking for:
- Degree in law (international degrees are an advantage)
- First relevant professional experience in insurance or banking
- Excellent communication skills as well as business fluent Italian and English (other foreign languages an advantage)
- Ability to work in a team and quick perception and decision-making
- High resilience, especially when working under stress and deadline pressure, and high assertiveness
- Good knowledge of Word, basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Along with technical skills required for the job, include soft skills like problem solving ability as well as personality traits (team player, proactive etc. )
