About the Role As a Validation Engineer specializing in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols at SIAE MICROELETTRONICA, you will be responsible for validating and verifying the functionality, performance, and compliance of networking products and systems.

Joining our Integration and Validation team you will collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D teams to guarantee the seamless operation of networking protocols, focusing on standards, performance, and real-world use cases. Furthermore, you will troubleshoot and diagnose complex networking issues and contribute to develop test strategies and build test environments.

Responsibilities Validate and verify Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including Ethernet, VLAN, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, and BGP, as well as other relevant networking protocols, to ensure the equipment's compliance with technical specifications and international standards. Design, document, and execute test procedures, leveraging automated platforms and actively managing bug fixing processes. Conduct Type Approval, PoC, and similar validation activities in collaboration with customers. Key Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science or related fields. At least 5 years of experience in validation or design, implementation, management and transport networks, with a focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols. Expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including Ethernet, VLANs, ARP, RSTP, LACP, IPv4/IPv6, Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP, etc. ), ICMP, MPLS, etc. Strong knowledge of network simulators and protocol analyzers such as Wireshark, iPerf and testing tools such as Spirent, Ixia, or similar platforms. Proficiency and hands-on experience with router and switches from major HW suppliers (e. g. , Cisco, Juniper). Experience with SNMP, CLI and other network management tools. Good command of English. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic cross-functional team environment. Preferred Qualifications Cisco CCNA and equivalent certifications. Knowledge of network security protocols (e. g. , IPSec, SSL/TLS, SSH, Https, SFTP, Radius, Tacacs+, VPN). Familiarity with network virtualization technologies, such as VMware or similar. Experience in testing and troubleshooting backhaul and transport networks. Knowledge of mobile radio network technologies and architecture (e. g. , LTE, 5G, O-RAN). Why Join Us? Innovative Projects.
