- To manage the VS manufacturing activities namely Production, Health & Safety, Process Engineering, Packaging and Quality in a manner that is consistent with the company's Mission Statement and will achieve the goals and objectives set out in the Business line Plan.
- Maintain productive relationships with employees and ensure that industrial relations issues are properly and consistently handled in accordance with established procedures and practices.
- Identify, coordinate and implement activities to ensure that essential services, utilities and equipment are maintained, production targets are achieved and that targets for agreed Key Performance Indicators are realized.
- Work with fellow function heads, colleagues and employees to continuously improve in areas such as Health and Safety, Environmental performance, Quality assurance, optimization of plant equipment and manufacturing costs.
- Review manufacturing activities to ensure competitiveness is maintained.
Evaluate and propose new technology, equipment and work practices that will improve production efficiency and cost effectiveness and review feasibility with Facility Manager and Plant Manager for approval.
- Prepare, monitor and control manufacturing budgets to ensure costs are in line with agreed business plans.
Prepare and submit for approval capital expenditure request.
- Participates in financial planning process by establishing operational budgets, monitoring performance and developing financial projections.
- Develop an efficient, reliable and promotable staff through effective management to ensure a productive and efficient facility.
- Provides leadership to achieve the goals and objectives of the VS.
- Fiduciary responsibility in the management of the Company's assets.
- Maintain an environment within the company that fosters teamwork, cross-functional working and continuous improvement.
- _ Cooperate in recruiting and hiring talent to fill team positions_
- _ Providing training and support to new hires_
- _ Cross training employees to ensure job rotation and minimize assignment coverage gaps_
- _ Providing coaching and performance feedback to all team members_
- _ Communicating and ensuring understanding of functional or departmental goals_
- _ Monitoring individual and team metrics and performance versus targets_
- _ Identifying the need for corrective actions_
- _ Ensuring quality standards for all processes_
- _ Evaluating overall team and individual performance and delivering the performance reviews_
- _ Engaging with other line managers across the organization_
- _ Providing reports on productivity and other performance indicators to management_
- _ Improve health and safety performance_
- _ Stabilize VS performance and on time delivery metrics. _
- _ Lead complexity reduction and operational excellence program in VS_
- _ Support the manufacturing strategy in the VS_
- _ Maintain and increase efficiency to meet MM targets_
**Qualifications
**_Qualifications_
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field, or comparable combination of education and experience.
- Typically 5 years proven experience including 1-year experience in the role of VS/Production Leader or Functional Manager
- Minimum 2-years' experience of managing people and functions that includes capacity and resource planning, asset transfer, maintenance management and managing budgets.
- Experience of optimizing facilities, space and processes.
- Specific knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques (e. g.
green belt).
- Working experience with "matrix organization".

- _ Strong communication skills both verbal and in writing_
- _ Possess emotional Intelligence_
