Job Description: Associate/Vice President in the TMT&H sector team Italy Your role and work environment The Technology, Media and Telecom & Healthcare sector team ("TMT&H") is one of the global specialist sector coverage teams at the heart of ING Wholesale Banking.
We provide banking services and complex financial solutions to telecommunication, media, entertainment, technology, satellite, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies in the EMEA region, the Americas and in Asia-Pacific.
As a Vice President , you will play a key role in (i) managing our relationships with clients in the dynamic TMT&H sectors, (ii) origination, structuring and execution of transformational financial solutions for them, and (iii) working closely with product teams in ING to originate and increase ING wallet share.
You will be a member of a successful and highly driven & results-oriented team.
Working in the TMT&H sector team means working in a dynamic environment with interesting clients and on challenging transactions at the very heart of the ING organization.
The global TMT&H sector team currently consists of 80+ dedicated professionals located in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
This footprint will be extended to new countries within the EMEA and AsiaPac regions.
The combined teams in the EMEA region, together with PAMs in other locations serve clients in a number of TMT&H sub-sectors.
Given the growth ambitions of ING WB in Italy and the focus on capturing additional business with both domestic and international players in the TMT&H value chain, a new dedicated TMT&H sector team will be established in Milan.
Your key responsibilities Building client relations and maintaining continuous dialogue with industry leaders and sector participants.
Maintaining active contacts with other departments/disciplines within ING such as Corporate Finance, Loan Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and Risk Management.
Actively driving and supporting deal generation, proactively contributing to the origination efforts of the team by driving sector analysis, presentations, and pitch books.
Structuring and negotiating of transactions in which ING acts as lead arranger, coordinator, or debt advisor.
Safeguarding timely transaction delivery and high-quality and seamless transaction execution.
Taking responsibility for complex financial models, credit analyses, rating profiles and peer group analysis and managing credit applications.
Assessing and reviewing due diligence on clients.
Negotiation of transaction documentation with our clients.
Active involvement in the syndication or coordination of transactions.
Guiding, training and supervising Associates and Analysts in a deal team setting.
Monitoring portfolio management activities such as processing of credit reviews, waivers, and amendments.
You have 1st line of defence responsibilities: you ensure relevant client reporting, holding credit, operational and compliance risks at the highest standards by supporting the completion of KYC processes.
You monitor your client profitability and the realization of your portfolio KPIs & team objectives.
You avoid underperforming assets in your portfolio by locking in cross-sell opportunities and making careful considerations when being presented a lending opportunity.
You participate in the wider sector initiatives and improvement projects, and actively contribute to making the TMT&H Italy a better and more efficient organization.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a pro-active professional with a strong personal drive, professional ambition and international mindset.
You have the ability to operate in a highly demanding environment, to deal with pressure and to perform under tight deadlines.
You have a strong commercial drive and have excellent communication skills.
Personal profile: Ambitious professional with a Masters' degree with above-average academic grades.
At least 6 years of experience in the financial sector in an international environment.
Sector experience, with a grounded understanding (and preferably client experience) within TMT&H.
Relationship-driven, people-oriented, capable to make connections, good in internal and external stakeholder management.
Commercial drive, ability to find out the preferences and needs of the client, solution focused.
Good interpersonal & communication skills, strong team player.
High level of drive, self-motivation and professional approach.
Preferably excellent financial, modelling & analytical skills, eye for detail.
Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
Fluency in Italian will be considered a plus.
