BREAK THE ICE! Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.
We are driven by the following values: respect, determination, legacy, engagement and sustainability. Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2, 300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22, 000 square km.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).
Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.
Position:The services operations coordinator will assist the Village Services Manager in planning, organizing, and delivering seamless operations and services across the Olympic and Paralympic Villages, ensuring a safe, efficient, and athlete-centered environment for all stakeholders.
The resource will be involved in the planning phase to finalize the village services operation plan that should be complete with all the details provided by the partners that will activate such services and the other FA that will have an operation in the same spaces.
For each of the 6 villages, the resource will develop a services operational plan that includes:
Venue timeline and activities, including bump-in and bump-out scheduling of the services spaces and services contractors; transition plans and special days operations (media days, ceremonies etc). Games times operational details of the services team, including all staff planning, job descriptions, shift planning, documents such as daily run sheets, daily briefings and reporting etc. The services operations coordinator will also be responsible for liaising with the Health and Safety functional area to ensure that all services contractors are compliant.
She/he will be responsible for preparing training material for paid staff and volunteers and plan all training timelines.
During games time, for the entire exclusive use of the site of the village, she/he will take on the role of Village Services Supervisor and lead the entire Services team and its operations that includes:
Team Processing Centre and arrivals and departures coordination, working with relevant FAs;Management of the Guest Pass centre Operations;Management of Fitness Centre, recreational areas and partner activations. Main areas and activities of interest:Village Operations ManagementSupport the implementation of operational plans for the Village services operations;Monitor adherence to timelines, quality standards, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures, during the different phases of planning, readiness and operations;During Games time, oversee daily services operations and resolve operational issues promptly reporting to the Village General Manager. Stakeholder EngagementAct as a key liaison with the partners, other FAs, and other stakeholders to address their needs effectively;Facilitate regular communication and briefings to ensure alignment between the services team, the venue team and stakeholders. Team Leadership and CoordinationSupervise the village services team, ensuring they are adequately trained and well-prepared;Foster collaboration among internal teams, contractors, and external service providers to maintain smooth operations. Resource Planning and ManagementAssist in managing resources, and schedules for the village services operations, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness;Monitor inventory levels and ensure all operational supplies are available and properly managed. Event-Time ResponsibilitiesOversee all installations of services from partners and contractors;Oversee the execution of day-to-day operations during Games time to maintain a high standard of service delivery;Manage the Services team, paid staff, volunteers and contractors;Conduct walkthroughs to monitor and ensure a positive experience for athletes, officials, and guests. Reporting and AnalysisProvide regular updates and reports to the Village Manager on key metrics, progress, and areas of concern. Collect and analyse feedback to identify improvement opportunities for future editions of the Games. Requirements:Experience: Proven experience in large-scale event management, operations, or logistics; familiarity with Olympic/Paralympic village operations preferred;Experience in working with commercial Partners and other external stakeholders;Independent thinker able to work in a fast changing environment, able to quickly react and readapt plans;Education: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Administration, Business, or related field;Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities;Leadership and team coordination capabilities in high-pressure environments. Other Requirements:Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and during Games time;Able to travel extensively and relocate to the assigned MOUNTAIN village during Games Times;Multilingual skills are an asset (especially Italian for Milano Cortina 2026);Knowledge of IOC and IPC protocols is a plus.
