Belmond has a great opportunity for a Waiter to join the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express team.

The **_Venice Simplon-Orient-Express_** (**VSOE**) is a luxury train service from London to Venice and other European cities.

- The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is the most storied set of carriages in the world.

With its polished wood, sumptuous upholstery and antique fixtures, the train epitomises the glamour and elegance of the Golden Age of travel. _

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serves and sells food and/or beverages in designated restaurant.

- Assists the Leading Waiter with beverage stock takes and departmental control.

- Maintaining the company's standards in respect of customers and staff relations.

- Carrying out the Head Waiter's and Leading Waiter's instructions.

- Attending to the guests' requirements in a timely manner.

- Looking after the wellbeing and comfort of the guests.

- Maintaining cleanliness in the dining carriage.

- Promoting customer satisfaction through a high standard of efficiency and courtesy.

- Always maintaining a neat appearance and high standard of personal hygiene.

- Ensuring safety & security in the dining carriage at all times.

**Requirements**:

- Preparation of the restaurant cars and its related areas to ensure a smooth-running operation.

- Previous hospitality experience within a luxury environment.

- Genuinely enthusiastic personality, professional & hardworking with the highest standard of presentation and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

- Ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution-focused.

- Excellent command of English.

Additional languages would be desirable.

- Ability to communicate with guests in the luxury market to meet their individual needs.

- Knowledge of taking orders, wine & cheese service, fine dining and plated service.

- Excellent interpersonal skills.

- Responsible for the wellbeing and safety of your allocated car and passengers.

- Deliver cleaning and maintenance duties to the highest of standards.

- Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.

- Work as a team player to ensure the whole team is able to do their job to the highest of standards.

- Acknowledge and handle any passenger requests; whether dietary, medical or special occasion requests.

- Always maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and appearance.

- EU or Swiss passport holder

**Further information**:

- This is a seasonal position.

The train runs between March to Early November of each year.

- This role is on-board an overnight train.

- Full training will be given.

The work undertaken will be done on a rolling rota system ensuring a fair amount of time for each team member in each role.

- Required to work throughout the EU and Switzerland.
