**WAITER / WAITRESS**:
Job purpose
The Waiter is responsible for providing exceptional dining service to members and guests at the exclusive member club.
They ensure a memorable dining experience by delivering attentive, personalized service and maintaining high standards of professionalism and hospitality.
**Main Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, making recommendations as needed.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to member preferences.
- Monitor tables throughout the meal, anticipating guests' needs, and promptly addressing any requests or concerns.
- Clear tables and reset for the next service, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
- Assist with special requests, dietary restrictions, and accommodations for guests as needed.
- Handle billing and payments accurately, processing transactions and closing out checks.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings, to provide accurate information to guests.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of dining supplies, including linens, tableware, and condiments.
- Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.
**Key Competencies**:
**Required Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in hospitality or related field preferred.
- Previous experience (1-2 years) in a similar role in a fine dining restaurant, hotel, or private club setting preferred.
- Knowledge of English is a plus
**General Knowledge and Technical Skills**:
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, including tray service, wine service, and tableside presentation.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions.
**Personal and Interpersonal Skills**:
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth service.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, with a passion for hospitality and a willingness to exceed guest expectations.
