Youth Director - Small or Medium SAC / Youth U. S. Navy Fleet and Family Readiness Summary: The purpose of the Youth Director position is to administer a developmentally appropriate youth program for children of eligible patrons.
Administration includes the direction and operation of a small (up to 99 children) or a medium (100-199 children) School Age Care (SAC) program and/or a Youth Program (YP).
Duties: Program Management: Applies professional knowledge of child and youth development to develop and supervise a developmentally appropriate SAC and YP.
Implements a program that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of children and youth.
Provides oversight and accountability for employee performance and child safety.
Budgeting and Financial Management: Develops integrated budget input, conducts analysis of budget variances, and prepares justification for funding.
Ensures compliance with regulations governing fund use.
Personnel Management: Supervises employees and volunteers, ensuring compliance with safety, health, nutrition, and risk management policies.
Establishes performance standards and evaluates performance.
Program Operations: Provides input into the development of standard operating procedures and ensures their implementation.
Works collaboratively with other CYP Directors.
Compliance: Ensures adherence to standards developed by the DoN, DoD, and other regulatory bodies.
Additional Responsibilities: Serves as a mandatory reporter to Family Advocacy and Child Protective Services.
Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization, and obtain appropriate security clearance.
Must be a U. S. Citizen.
Qualifications: Resumes must demonstrate experience and knowledge as they relate to this position.
A combination of education and full-time experience working with children is required.
Education: A 4-year degree in a related field and 3 years of experience working with children, or a Master's degree and 1 year of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
